Amazon CloudWatch Logs Insights allows you to interactively search and analyze your log data. This can be used to quickly identify the top internet destinations accessed by the EC2 instances.

Steps:

Open CloudWatch Logs Insights:

Open the Amazon CloudWatch console.

In the navigation pane, choose "Logs Insights".

Select the Log Group:

Select the log group that contains the VPC flow logs for the NAT gateway.

Run a Query:

Use the following query to identify the top five internet destinations:

fields @timestamp, dstAddr

| stats count(*) as requestCount by dstAddr

| sort requestCount desc

| limit 5

This query will count the number of requests to each destination address, sort them in descending order, and limit the results to the top five.

Analyze Results:

Review the output to identify the top five internet destinations that the EC2 instances communicate with for downloads.

CloudTrail Log File Integrity Validation:

AWS CloudTrail provides a feature for log file integrity validation to ensure logs have not been modified or deleted.

Steps to Enable and Validate:

Enable Log File Integrity Validation:

Go to the CloudTrail Console.

Select or create a trail.

In the trail settings, enable Log file validation.

Use the AWS CLI for Validation:

Use the following CLI command:

aws cloudtrail validate-logs --trail-name

This command validates the digest files generated by CloudTrail against the log files.

Why Other Options Are Incorrect:

B: Using the AWS CloudTrail Processing Library is unnecessary for validation.

C: CloudTrail Insights is designed to identify unusual activity, not monitor log modifications.

D: Amazon CloudWatch Logs cannot directly monitor CloudTrail logs for integrity.

To reduce the cost of EC2 instances with a 1-year commitment across different regions, purchasing a Compute Savings Plan is the most suitable option.

This flexibility is ideal for the company's requirement to migrate workloads from the eu-west-1 region to the eu-west-3 region within the commitment period.

Implementation:

Open the AWS Cost Management console.

Navigate to the "Savings Plans" section.

Purchase a Compute Savings Plan with a 1-year term.
